Leadership Community

Greetings and welcome to Lamar University! It’s never been a better time to be a learner!

I would also like to welcome you to the Honor’s Leadership Community, most likely your first online course in your undergraduate degree program at Lamar University!

Mr. Strange (lead advisor) and Dr. Thibodeaux (co-advisor) will be facilitating the Leadership Community for the next 5 weeks.

We are very excited that you have chosen the Reaud Honor’s College at Lamar University. Our primary goal is to ensure that you have an excellent learning experience while working towards your personal endeavors. At any time, if you have any questions, comments, or concerns, I am here to help you. You can email Mr. Strange at arstrange@lamar.edu or Dr. Thibodeaux at tilisa.thibodeaux@lamar.edu or you can schedule a virtual visit via Skype, Hangouts, etc.

Honor’s Leadership Community

*If you are new to LU, familiarize yourself with your LU email (Microsoft Office 365). This will be our primary method of contact throughout the community.
*Navigate & familiarize yourself with the structural and navigational features in Blackboard.
*Go into the Discussion Board and add a brief comment in the Introduction forum.
*Visit the Student Lounge. This is a place to connect with your peers. You may post comments, questions, or concerns here.

What is the purpose of the Honor’s Leadership Community?
The Honor’s Leadership Community is focused on developing your pathway to success…..
Each week we will focus on one of the four pillars in terms of your projected pathway moving forward: Academics, Research, Leadership, and Global Impact.
In each of these pillars, we have curated videos and resources to help you navigate your learning journey in the right direction that ultimately helps you focus on your passion and your future.

What is your role in the Honor’s Leadership Community?
One discussion board post each week will be required. We ask that you contribute authentically to others’ discussion board posts as you wish.
In the final week, you will develop your ePortfolio (website) in which you will submit the link to a form in Blackboard where all of your discussion boards are included.

We look forward to working with you!

-Mr. Strange & Dr. Thibodeaux
